PROBLEM:
Majority of stroke survivors fail to follow some aspect of the rehab schedules set for them by professionals, leading to  reduced recovery of function and independence.
INSIGHTS:
Through research and interviews with stroke patients and specialists, we discovered following insight:
+ Stroke survivors want to be notified of their rehab schedule subtly though symbols that are easy to recognize
+It is hard to ignore the notification if the device is on the patient and the notification stays on until the patient completes the task
+ Tracking progress motivates patients by playing on their desire to improve
+The application should be easy to use, minimalistic
SOLUTION:
Based on research findings and meaningful insights from stroke survivors and specialist, We determined that we could make the biggest difference by improving schedule adherence during at-home rehabilitation.
We decided to tackle this problem in two ways.
The first is with a wearable alarm, the “item” that alerts the user of an event, and the second is a computer module, the “platform” aimed at monitoring a patient’s schedule with beauty and precision.
The item will alert the patient of his/her appointments, schedule medication and rehab exercises through backlit symbols (red-blue-yellow). They will be scheduled on the platform by the stroke survivor and/or caregiver. The backlit symbols will be on to notify the patients and stay on until the patients complete the tasks.

The Item could be in forms of wristband  or necklace with symbols that are easy to recognize
